I brought some amazing organic Apples from the local farmers market and I have set out to make Apple crumble that is easy, Gluten free, and Sugar free.
It is so delicious and an easy desert to make. We are indulging in this desert for our Saturday cheat meal ( and if you are too) a nice side of plain ice cream works amazing together.
Dead easy and Delicious.
6-8 green and/or red apples, cored, peeled, each sliced into approx 8 wedged Crumble topping
4 tablespoons almond meal
4 tablespoons gluten free all purpose flour
3 tablespoons desiccated coconut
1½ tablespoons butter softened
A few blueberries (This is optional and you can mixed it up with other berries)
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Place the apples in a saucepan with a little water, place heat on medium and cook until apples are tender. Keep and eye on these and stir occasionally to prevent sticking
Meanwhile, combine topping ingredients and rub together with fingers.
Layer the apples and their juices in a greased ovenproof dish. Cover the apples with the crumble mixture , blueberries add a pinch of cinnamon and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
This apple crumble can be served hot or cold with your favourite side of either plain yoghurt, custard or cream or like we have done tonight vanilla ice cream. YUM!
Enjoy - Anastasia xo
